Working Groups use 2003 to write Assessment
Saturday, May 17, 2003
At the end of 2003, each of the four working groups of the MA will have assessment reports ready for expert review. In anticipation of this deadline, by July 2003 each of the four MA Working Groups will have convened at least two meetings of their Coordinating Lead Authors (CLAs). In March, the Scenarios group hosted their third CLA meeting in San Jose, Costa Rica. The Conditions and Trends Working Group held their third CLA meeting near Washington, DC in late April. The Response and Sub-global Working Groups will hold their second CLA meetings in May and June, respectively. These week-long meetings provide important opportunities for all the working group members to discuss the progress of the whole report, and time for CLAs to coordinate and draft their chapters. In October 2003, all working group CLAs will meet in Prague, Czech Republic to do final drafting and preparations to ensure that the assessments are ready for the first round of expert review.
